Preparation

Once you schedule your procedure, Dr. Cristel will give you a set of detailed pre-operative instructions to help you prepare. These instructions may vary depending on the details of your treatment plan, but following them closely will help you achieve your desired results. Dr. Cristel may direct you to:

  • Discontinue using any nicotine or tobacco products in the weeks leading up to your procedure.
  • Refrain from taking any blood-thinning medications or supplements.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol before and after the procedure.
  • Pre-arrange transportation for your appointment.
  • Prepare to take time away from your career and commitments.
  • Fill any prescriptions ahead of time.

Procedure

Dr. Cristel performs brow lifts on an outpatient basis. Each procedure typically takes between one and two hours, but the exact duration of your procedure will depend on the details of your surgical plan.

After you receive the necessary anesthesia, Dr. Cristel will place small incisions around your hairline and scalp to access your underlying tissues without creating any noticeable scars. He will then elevate the position of your eyebrows, tighten your underlying muscles, remove any loose or hanging skin, and eliminate excess fat. Through these corrections, Dr. Cristel can help you restore a smoother, more youthful look.

Once Dr. Cristel makes each correction, he will suture each incision. You will then rest in our recovery suite until you are ready to return home.

Recovery

After a brow lift, it is common to experience some bruising, swelling, or tenderness around the treated areas. These side effects are temporary and will gradually subside on their own, but you may also manage them with plenty of rest, a cold compress, and prescribed pain medications.

You may resume most of your normal activities within 7 to 10 days. However, you will need to continue avoiding engaging in any strenuous or demanding activities until Dr. Cristel clears you to return.

Dr. Cristel will provide a full set of post-operative instructions to help you navigate your recovery. These will include guidelines on managing any side effects, reintroducing certain activities into your routine, and general best practices as your body heals.

You will be able to experience the results of your brow lift once any residual swelling fully subsides. You will be able to enjoy a more alert, refreshed, and energetic appearance around your eyes and eyebrows.
