Meet Dr. Cristel
Robert Cristel, MD, is a board-certified surgeon specializing in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery.
Dr. Cristel provides individualized, evidence-based facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and general ENT services at four convenient locations in O’Fallon, Missouri, Chesterfield Valley, and Chesterfield.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Dr. Cristel completed his undergraduate training at Webster University in St. Louis, graduating with honors in biology and biotechnology.
He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors as an alpha omega alpha honor medical society awardee and was selected into the gold humanism honor society.
Dr. Cristel completed his residency at the University of Illinois-Chicago in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and was selected as chief resident in his final year. He then pursued advanced training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine.
He has a particular interest in rhinoplasty, facelift, neck lift, brow lift, eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), lip lift, co2 laser resurfacing, chin implants, fat transfer to the face, and otoplasty (ear pinning).
He is also interested in buccal fat reduction, scar revisions, repair of facial injuries and fractures, surgical management of otolaryngological disease, and all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck.
Dr. Cristel has published and presented extensively in cosmetic facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and uses the most modern surgical and nonsurgical techniques, with over 30 journal articles and book chapters in cosmetic facial plastic surgery.
He also serves as a clinical instructor at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in the facial plastic and reconstructive surgery division. He mentors fellows, residents, and medical students.

Richard W. Maack, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the director of Synergi Facial Surgery, a division of ENT Associates/ Sound Health. He practices in the state-of-the-art, facial surgery facility adjoining the acclaimed Synergi MedSpa in Chesterfield Valley. Dr. Maack artistically and compassionately treats the aging face with surgical enhancements such as face, brow and neck lifts and eyelid surgery as well as nasal refinement and breathing procedures, hair restoration and facial injections to provide patients with a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.
Dr. Maack holds a medical degree from The University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency through Washington University in St Louis and a Fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Cincinnati. He is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery as well as the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Maack is a Clinical Instructor at Washington University School of Medicine and spends time teaching residents and fellows in their specialized surgical training.He has authored numerous articles and book chapters in the medical literature over the years. He is the Medical Director of the Chesterfield Surgery Center, the Medical Director of the Synergi MedSpa, President of ENT Associates and is on various medical boards in the St Louis area.
